The Athlete on the Table
RecovAthlete is a US store for serious recovery and wellness gear: hard and soft hyperbaric chambers, red light therapy beds, Lagree fitness reformers, massage guns, saunas and swim spas. Some of these products cost more than a used car.
Nobody buys a hyperbaric chamber on a whim. They search model names, compare specs, read guides, ask questions and often talk to a person before they pay. A lot of RecovAthlete’s revenue is closed by its sales team and booked as draft orders in Shopify.
So our job was not to push cheap clicks into a checkout. It was to find buyers who are already researching this equipment, on Google Ads and in organic search, and hand them to a store and a sales process that can close a five-figure order.

Where High-Ticket Stores Get Sore
Very few sales to learn from
A store selling $5,000+ items gets a handful of orders a month, not hundreds. Google’s bidding needs conversion data, and one hyperbaric sale can swing a month’s numbers on its own.
A long research phase
Buyers search model names, comparisons and “best for home use” guides for weeks. If you only show up at the “buy now” moment, a competitor has already answered their questions.
Sales happen off the checkout
Big orders are often closed on a call and entered as draft orders. An ad account that only counts online checkouts misses part of what it started, so you have to read ads and store data side by side.
The Protocol, Block by Block
The campaign names below are the ones visible in the Google Ads screenshot. The rest describes how we build this kind of account and SEO plan for expensive equipment. It is method, not extra results.
| Block | Exercise | Prescription | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
| Warm-up | Tracking with real values | Purchase value per order, not a flat number per lead | When a chamber and a massage gun count the same, Google bids as if they were. Real order values teach it which searches are worth paying for. |
| Block A | Search, split by intent | Branded / Non Branded / Hyperbaric by country | Brand searchers are cheap and nearly sold. Non-branded category searches need their own budget and their own bids, or they eat each other. Hyperbaric runs as its own line for Canada. |
| Block B | Product (SKU) campaigns | Feed titles with model names, specs and pressure ratings | People shopping for this gear type the exact model. A clean feed puts the right product, price and image in front of them before the click. |
| Block C | Remarketing windows | Dynamic remarketing at 15 days and 30 days | A long research phase means visitors leave and come back. Showing them the exact product they viewed keeps the store in the shortlist while they decide. |
| Block D | SEO for model and category terms | Product pages + buying guides for “for sale”, “best for home use”, comparisons | Organic pages answer research questions for free and keep earning. They also lift paid results, because buyers trust a store they keep seeing. |
| Cool-down | Hand-off to the sales team | Read Google Ads value next to Shopify draft orders | Ads start the conversation and the sales team finishes it. Judging the ads on online checkouts alone would undercount them, so we review both. |
We do not publish the budget split or bid targets. Every high-ticket store needs its own.

Honest read: high-ticket accounts are lumpy. The Hyperbaric Non Branded Canada campaign spent $427.78 and drove 2 conversions worth $53,336.55, more than half of the account’s value. That is what selling five-figure equipment looks like, and it is why we judge these accounts over months, not weeks.
Shopify store
30 Nov 2023 to 30 Sep 2026
Most of these sales come in as draft orders, closed by RecovAthlete’s sales team (about $730K, against about $360K through the online store, as rounded on the channel chart). That is the point of the model: ads and search bring in researched buyers, and people close the sale. We do not claim this whole figure as ad revenue.
Google Search Console
Last 16 months
Look at the impressions line: it steps up in late August 2025 and stays higher. Most top queries are product and model terms, not the brand name: “vbx wellness massage gun” (position 6.1), “sculptformer” (4.5), “lagree balance pole” (3.4). The site-wide average position is 21.1, because it shows for a long tail of research searches too, so we do not headline it.
Avoid These If You Sell Expensive Gear
Do not judge on a two-week window
When a single order can be worth more than a month of ad spend, short-term ROAS is noise. Look at 60 to 90 days and at cost per real sales conversation.
Do not count every conversion the same
Feed Google real order values. A form fill for a sauna stone and a chamber purchase should never carry the same weight in bidding.
Do not ignore the sales team’s orders
If buyers close on the phone, the ad account will undercount. Compare ad conversion value with store and CRM data before cutting a campaign that “does not convert”.
Do not leave research searches to competitors
“Best hyperbaric chamber for home use” and model comparisons are where expensive purchases start. Rank a useful guide there and every later ad click gets easier.

Questions About This High-Ticket Google Ads Case Study
Do Google Ads work for high-ticket products like hyperbaric chambers?
Yes, if the account is built for few, large sales. For RecovAthlete, the Google Ads account shows $99,639 in conversion value on $16,419 of spend between Jul 1, 2025 and Jul 27, 2026, a 6.07x return. Much of that value came from a small number of big-ticket orders, which is normal for this kind of product.
What is a good ROAS for expensive equipment?
It depends on your margin and how much of the sale your team closes off-site. High-ticket stores often accept a lower in-platform ROAS in quiet months because a single large order can change the picture. Set your target from margin, not from an industry average.
How do you track sales that close over the phone or as draft orders?
We send real order values to Google where the sale happens online, and we review ad data next to Shopify and CRM records for the rest. Where the setup allows, offline sales can be imported back into Google Ads so bidding learns from them too.
How long does SEO take for product and model keywords?
Usually several months before rankings settle, longer in competitive categories. Product and model terms tend to move sooner than broad category terms because fewer pages answer them well. RecovAthlete’s Search Console shows 3.23M impressions and 15K clicks over 16 months, with many top queries being model names.
Should a high-ticket store run Google Ads and SEO together?
We think so. Ads put you in front of buyers now, and SEO keeps answering their research questions without a cost per click. Buyers who see the same store in both places tend to trust it more, which matters when the order is worth thousands.
How long is the minimum engagement?
We work on a 3-month minimum, then month to month. High-ticket accounts in particular need that time: there are fewer sales to learn from, so testing and settling takes longer than for a low-price store.
